Grand Lodge

Our Grand Lodge is the community hub at Sandy Pines Campground. Our friendly staff maintains regular office hours to answer all your questions and offer suggestions on places to go and things to see around Kennebunkport. This is also where you’ll find our General Store and Snack Bar, as well as community space to relax in air conditioned comfort.

Forget something? No problem! Whether you need charcoal, propane, wood, matches, bug spray or sunscreen, our General Store has all the camping essentials. You’ll also find grocery items, adult beverages, kids’ snacks, s’mores kits and all kinds of adorable souvenirs.

Don’t feel like cooking? You can grab hot coffee or freshly made baked goods each morning at our Snack Bar. On weekends, we offer delicious breakfast sandwiches made to order.

Kids' Activities

The kids will be delighted with our Kids’ Kraft Sessions, providing hours of crafting and artistic fun. We have an array of games on hand for guests to use, as well as weekly planned crafts during the summer season.

Our playground is a meeting place for families, who will have plenty of room to spread out in the adjacent social spaces. And when it’s time to round the kids up to play a few rounds of their favorite lawn games — including Corn Hole, Ladder Ball, Volleyball and Badminton — we offer wide-open fields with enough room for everyone to join in the fun.

Sandy Pines is bike-friendly and our well-maintained dirt roads with gentle hills, twists and turns offer hours of riding fun for kids of all ages.

Beaches

Widely regarded as one of the prettiest beaches in New England, Goose Rocks Beach offers three miles of pristine white sand and calm waters sheltered by a barrier reef. It’s a wonderful spot to relax, fly kites and kayak or stand up paddleboard and it’s only a mile away.

You’ll love strolling the charming neighborhood and enjoying the gorgeous scenery. When hunger strikes, the Goose Rocks Beach General Store has great sandwiches to go while The Tides Beach Club is a hip and stylish spot for cocktails, appetizers, and a fantastic lobster roll served cold or hot.

Parking is extremely limited at Goose Rocks Beach but it’s walking distance from the campground and less than 10 minutes by bike. For families with small children, we recommend “the drop off” method due to the traffic on Route 9. One parent does the driving, riding/walking to and from the beach/campground while the other parent shuttles all the kids and gear to the perfect spot on the beach.

SUP & Kayaking

Some of the best paddling in Kennebunkport can be accessed right from our property when the tides are right. We recommend launching your kayak or stand-up paddleboard directly into the salt marsh that hugs the perimeter of the campground two hours before high tide. The crystal clear waters are very calm, providing a smooth experience for most skill levels. Take a right from our inlet, and you can spend a few hours paddling around the winding salt marsh that lies just before the mouth of the Batson River.

If you don’t own a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, you can rent one from our friends at Kayak Excursions from Memorial Day to Labor Day — please check directly with Kayak Excursions for dates. We encourage beginner and advanced paddlers alike to try one of their guided stand-up paddleboard tours. You’ll love their courteous staff and the confidence of paddling with locals who know their way around the salt marsh.
