5 Best Things to Do In Kennebunkport This Fall
The crackle of the campfire. The colorful canopy of leaves. The crisp cool weather. Fall in Kennebunkport is spectacular, and we’ve rounded up the top five things to do this season!
#5 Take a fall foliage bike ride at Smith Preserve or Goose Rocks Beach
Just a short drive from the campground, Smith Preserve has over 10 miles of challenging trails that are even more beautiful during foliage season. If you prefer a more relaxing ride, take a right out of the campground, another right onto Dyke Road, and another right onto Kings Highway. This flat road is under a canopy of beautiful trees and ends with a stunning water view.
#4 Go apple picking at Spiller Farm in Wells
Family-owned since 1894, Spiller Farm gets our vote for the best place to pick your own apples and experience real Maine. Grab an Apple Cider doughnut while you’re there, and if you’re lucky, some of the last ears of summer corn. Whatever you do, be sure to bring cash (small bills if possible) because the Spiller family doesn’t accept credit cards.
#3 Create a fall scented candle at Sea Love Candles in Dock Square
Take souvenir shopping to the next level by pouring your own natural wax candles! Stacy and Barry Miller have over 100 fragrance oils to choose from, so you can customize your candle however you wish. To make the experience even more festive, Sea Love Candles is BYOB, so grab a bottle of something new from H.B. Provisions or Maine & Vine on your way!
#2 Enjoy a seasonal cocktail or beer on the deck at Batson River Brewing & Distilling
Good times are always on tap at Batson, and with three decks offering the best people watching in Kennebunk, there aren’t many places we’d rather be on a fall afternoon. Get there at 4pm for Happy Hour specials until 5pm, except on Wednesdays, when the deals are available all day. Be sure to try their Harvest Kolsch, Festbier, Vienna Lager and Dunkles Bock while they last!
#1 Gather around your fire pit and enjoy the crisp autumn air
There’s no better way to end a busy day of sightseeing and leaf peeping than kicking back and putting up your feet at your fire pit. Be sure to stop by our General Store for camp wood, a fire starter, and all your s’mores essentials. Once your fire is going, keep an eye out for shooting stars as your worries and stress drift away with the smoke.
